The First Step Toward a Continued Legacy

Not very often can a single piece of property capture the essence of an entire region. That a storied past and a future filled with opportunity can reside on one piece of land.   Where endless plateaus and breathtaking vistas mirror the surrounding topography and where a sense of community fills the air and makes you feel right at home. The Atrisco Land Grant embodies all that is Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, and SunCal Companies is seeing that this tradition is kept alive as the new stewards of this remarkable property.

On approximately 55,000 acres between the Rio Grande and the Rio Puerco, the Atrisco Land Grant symbolizes an opportunity for the region to move towards reaching its great potential, while benefiting the families that played such a vital role in its creation and preserving the cultural resources that make this such a special place.

Working together with Atrisco Heirs, local residents, and officials, SunCal is now embarking on the creation of its first community within the Atrisco Land Grant.  Known as the Lower Petroglyphs, this community will be the first step toward this property’s continued legacy, and will introduce the region to what it’s like to call a SunCal community home.
